We found this in our aquarium last night and we are just getting into saltwater aquariums so we are not sure what this is. It has two small black dots that float in the inside of this egg looking bubble. Does anyone know what this is?

Does it have a spiraled look in the interior? The black dots could be eyes. I've seen shark eggs for sale, but it was quite some time ago and I don't remember exactly what they look like. I think the inside is somewhat spiraled like a nautilus shell.

It may be an egg of some sort. Could you snap some closer pics?

Here are a few I found on the net.

Whoops. I guess I was looking at the wrong thing. So I guess the subject in the picture is not the larger item on the left, but rather the tiny item on the right.

    Sorry. Misread your post.

Can't really see enough detail to give you a very good guess, but...my guess is that it's out of my (rather narrow) area of specialization, anyway. I know what quite a few species of snail eggs look like, but only the ones I've encountered as they deposited them. If it's a snail egg capsule, it's probably one I don't know. It certainly may be the egg of some other creature, though. Sorry I can't help much on this one, and good luck ID'ing it.

    Cheers,

    Don

Almost looks like a clown egg, If you have a hosting pair, but usually there are many together.... So I would say that's not it lol... Maybe a list of livestock may help someone ID it?

Just incase, You may want to QT it, although im sure it harmless, but better to be safe than sorry!
