    I was very worried about getting a pistol but I love mine now! They are kinda like a husband and wife team. My watchman watches out for anything scary coming close to the den and my pistol is always cleaing and keeping house. He will pick up rubble and cover the hole to the den if needed and digs sand out everyday. Both of them I see almost daily and as long as I feed my pistol I have not had any missing fish or anything that I would say that he did it! Here are some pics!

    that is exactly it...if you feed the tank they will not go after fish! I also have a medium sized peacock mantis named Bob in another tank and I keep fish with him. Between my mantis shrimp and my pistol shrimp I have never lost a fish to them. I HAVE lost a fish to a larger white legged hermit crab that I had...it got a hold of a flying gurnard and ate him....so I fed him to a mantis shrimp ::)
