    G'day.
    can anyone recommend some hardy plants? something colourfull but not too hard to maintain.

    Well PP, assuming you are referring to saltwater then apart from sea grass there is not a lot to choose from. Most things that look like plants for saltwater aquariums are in fact macro algae. You can get some interesting shapes but the colours tend to be either reddish or greenish :)

    Do a bit of a search here on Macros and I sure you will find lots of pics and ideas

    Shaving brush are nice. Halemeda are nice too. Both require high calcium levels.
