    I've seen a lot of people talking about that skimmer. You could go with two or one if you want. Water flow greatly depends on what corals you want. Some like high flow and other like a low flow area. ;D

    I heard it was possible to have only a protein skimmer without a filter for a 36 gallon tank. does that sound cool?

    You can do this in salt water because we use Live Rock as part of our filtration system. It is very possible to do it. The reason the I have HOB filters is so I can run additional filter media to help control some of my params is all. ;D
