Did you have to use the 90 deg elbows? Too late? I used 45 degs for a lot less restriction. Like this..

Oh I think all the stuff you got is safe to use. Make sure they are dry and cured.

Just something I see. How much clearance do you have between the top of the sump and the bottom of the stand? I just want to make sure you have enough room to pull the skimmer for cleaning and good access for work in the sump? Just looks a little tight.

As for that compound I would think it would be okay. You could just use teflon tape if you would like next time.

I just looked again, is that a check valve in the return line(Grey just below the gate valve)? I understand why its there, however they foul very easy so if it is make sure you disassemble and clean it as part of you regular maintenance. If it were me I'd remove it, no sense increasing our risk of a flood.

Nope not a check valve it's a union, oh and I had tried to use the 45* angles but the way I wanted it it just didnt work so I had to go with 90*s, oh and about the Hightower from the sump I'll have to check, I don't think I'll have a problem but then again even if I do oh well haha, oh so the pipe compound you guys think that will be fine? Or should I just go with Teflon tape???
