Ok the bulkhead for my durso is a snug fit but I just water tested it all and it's got a slow steady drip around the durso where it goes into the bulkhead, is it safe just to use plumber's cement on this and seal it up good?

I've been trying to find out if plumbers putty is reef safe. Some say there's reef safe and some say it isn't . I guess I just won't use it to be safe.

I don't know about plumbers cement.. would like to know though cuz I'm working on the same stuff you are.

I wouldnt put plumbers putty on anything in a reef tanks, it's kinda on the corrosive side. it wouldnt make a water tight seal anyway.

yeah it's not around the O ring it's around the part where the actual durso goes into the bulkhead

I didn't mention plumber's putty just the cement which as far as I know is fine, considering alot of us have used it in PVC rockwork frames along with a million other things I'm pretty sure it's safe just never had to use it on a bulkhead

well yeah you can glue it up to stop the leak but you might want to try wrapping some teflon tape around the durso pipe where it goes into the bulkhead to seal it first. that way it'd still be removable. if you put cement on it IT'S THERE
