How does this sound folks. I'm going to finish plumbing up my Fuge this weekend. I plan on running my skimmer outlet to the refugium, and then a return pump in the refugium returning to the main tank. Sound ok??

The return pump in the refugium IMO would not be a good idea.

Nautilus- No drawing yet. I took some pictures, but it's not quite ready to be installed. Once I install it I'll post some pictures and you can tell me what you think. You don't like the idea of a return pump in the fuge? How come?

Dirt and algae will get into the pump and may cause it to stop pumping.

Nautilus- It's going to be segragated off by a divider and up off the floor of the fuge. Do you still think this will be a problem??

Then why not keep all pumps and skimmers in the sump?

The skimmer will stay in the sump, and so will the main tank return pump. The skimmer will provide the supply water to the refugium. I'm putting an additional return pump in the refugium back to the main tank, I didn't want to go back to the sump (seems to defeat some of the purpose of a refugium to me). But who am I ;D !!!

Just trying something a little different, we'll see how it works.
