So I'm using pvc to plumb my new sump for my 125 gallon tank, and can't find one fitting in pvc however I can get it in brass. Can I use brass? I don't want to contaminate my tank cause of one fitting! Any advice is appreciated.

NO! brass is basically copper combined with zinc, it will rust, and it will leach metals. what is the fitting?

WHat return pump are you using? There are plastic hose connectors, they go from the hose to a 1/2" barb for hose repair.

Are you sure it is hose thread? I would think you would have a female NPT end in the pump. All you would need then is a PVC threaded male x socket (slip). But if it is hose, then you are correct in that HD does not carry much of anything to go from garden hose thread to anything in PVC. You would need to look online. But double check and make sure it is not NPT!

Try a regular plumbing shop for that fitting. Those big box stores only carry the most popular stuff. :)

Did the pump come from HD too? I would just get a better pump, ifit turns out to be hose threads.
