I think I know the answer already but is it okay to use PVC glue on pipes that will be under water?

yeah... just think about the inside of the pipe. Its always "under water" when there is water flowing through the pipes. In addition to this, you can get a "clear" pvc glue "primer". Its much more pleasing to the eye than the purple primer, IMO.

Agreed. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes tho, no rushing ;-)

if you place a filter sock or even a fish net on the exit of the pipe you will catch any glue "blobs" that dislodge -- you really can't do any harm so no worries.

Have you plumbed with PVC before? If not...put all the peices together with no glue and then take a pencil and mark the peices so you know exactly where it beleongs when you are gluing it. Hold it firm for 10-15 seconds before moving on to the next peice. good luck !
