So shooting way in the future here but if I were building a plywood tank that was say 6x6 would it be acceptable to use 2 peices on plywood for the bottom? Or how would u work that?

Let me clarify my thought process. So sheets of plywood are 4x8. So each side of the tank could be cut to fit. But if the tank is 6x6 what do you do for the bottom peice of the tank? I know theres bot to many plywood tanks on here but maybe someone will know or link me to a build thread where they cover this.

I wouldn't think you would want a seam but i imagine if you braced it good it wouldn't matter. You just wouldn't want that seam to have any movement. Once it's coated in epoxy I guess it wouldn't really matter. What in the world are you cooking up here lol. 6 foot from front to back would be RIDICULOUS!

I'd stagger the pieces and use marine plywood with a good glue in between so that you use 2 pieces on the top(HALF&HALF) three on the bottom (THIRDS)

Yeah I was thinking about the stacking peices of plywood idea. Prob the best bet. Thanks guys

This is something that will be in the works hopefully soon. And by soon I mean a few years so nothing to make a build thread about or anything. Toying with the idea of roughly 80" long by 80" deep by 24" high tank with 2 72" viewing windows.

Well in my few ideas I have there would be almost a walk way across the top. Or at least some where u could sit or kneel on to get to the middle. Also over each side will be accessible.

Yeah it will be a corner with a filter room behind it so you will only see the veiwing windows from the main room.
