I know the title sounds random but i promise it will make sense lol. In my 23 years and 7 months on this earth i have never gotten poison ivy, i could roll around in it and be fine, but while i was weeding my yard last week i must have picked some up, i guess its a sign im getting older lol. Anyway i need to get my hands in the tank for a waterchanger and to also right my clam which Delvis has once again knocked over (Delvis is my BHT), im short and my tank isnt, so that means i will be wet up to the armpit, i do have gloves but they only go about 1/3 up my arm and my arm is covered with pionon ivy so is it ok to put my arm in there or will it hurt something in the tank? My fiance said he will right the clam...but he is far too laxy to do a 35 gallon waterchange hahaha! If this is in the wrong catagory please tell me...i wasnt sure where it belonged.

    Thanks everyone

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
My suggestion is have him right the clam, wait on the water change and find a new boyfriend. Get the new boyfriend after he rights the clam though.

I would let your fiance right the clam and then do the water change yourself. I really don't know if there would adverse reactions of the poison ivy and your water chemistry, but I would lean towards yes there would be. I believe poison ivy seeps fluid?

BAHAHAHAHAHA oh this made me laugh so hard...yea he kinda sucks lol, he was really interested in the tank when i first set it up...now he looks at it once a month and helps in it almost never...but when friends come over and ooooo and aaaaa he introduces it as "his"...oh well i figure as long as hes lost interest and doesnt want to work on it, that just means he cant F anything up in "MY" tank hahahaha

Lol, that is funny. I would have some friends ask him some questions about YOUR setup that he would have no idea how to answer.

Haha, you're in quite a pickle. My wife will top off and feed if asked, but under no circumstances what so ever will she stick her hands in the tank or mess with anything, which i like it that way,if something goes wrong,it'll be my fault, not hers.

But i know a person who got tuberculosis from the bacteria by putting her hands in the tank with a fresh cut on her finger.I also have read it could lead to a bad infection if you have open sores (seeping). So i would use the utmost caution if you do a water change or just skip it till the ivy dries up.

And i'm definately with Corailline and Sticksmith, get him to right the clam, then let everyone know just who's tank it is.Yours! lol

haha thats the way i see it...if he doesnt do anythig with it he cant mess it up...and uh oh, i have been coughing my lungs out the past 2 days...maybe i did have my arms in the tank before i even noticed the poison ivy...make that a definitly because my hands are always in the tank lol and it wasnt even itchy until last night when i actually realized what it was (i swear its its in my head, it doesnt even itch unless i think about it)...but i think its just a cold from the weather change...its getting chilly here at night in the 'burgh and if your in zanesville im sure your getting the same weather we are...cold and rainy hahaha! Oh well i quess its cake on the calamine and hope this clears up soon before my clowns start to wonder where their favorite hand toy went hahaha!

p.s. he didnt mess up too bad while righting the clam...he only knocked over one of my many leathers and some rocks and decided the brain needed to be moved 6 inches lower before i yelled at him to put my @#$% coral back hahaha...so all in all it was a good day for him...although i asked him if he would change only 10 gallons and he wouldnt...thats asking far too much hahaha!

Lol, it is really hard to make 10 gallons of saltwater and pull 10 gallons out of your tank. I always struggle with that, lol. ;D
