    I picked him up at the store tonight, and while he doesn't have the yellow - orange of most vaiuli's, I'm thinking it must be it - mostly from the eyespot.

    mine lost its wonderful color. fed it the same varied diet as all my other stuff :( but they r pretty wen theyr little

    This happens to a lot of pretty juvenile damsels, did it end up all black?

    no it got lighter.like a light pink and brownish...i gave it to a friend to cycle her first tank :)

    I agree... be careful with damsels, do your research... they can be very aggressiv when they grow up. I had one and it ended up ruling the tank!

    Yup they can be very aggressive, I have 4 in a 200L tank, my two tangs rule the tank though...

    I saw four of those yesterday at my lfs, the smaller of the four had its tail missing. The lager one was bullying the others. Nice fish though.

    I have found that the only way to keep them is in pairs or singly, I have 2 pairs (2 yellow tails and 2 talbots) and their are hardly any conflicts. My bicolor blenny and male talbots damsel tend to fight a bit but one will always back down before they make contact.
