Hey guys, Im in love with Potters angels and Potters wrasses. Ive done a bit of research and it seems both are listed as difficult to care for esp the wrasse. I really would like to keep 1 of each in the same tank

Are the Potter Wrasses as difficult to care for as I think? Any key points to success with these species or personal stories? Im hoping evolved chimes in here with some helpful info

Probably not the news you wanted to hear...

A very delicate species, and far from a beginner species. They stress quite easily, are prone to flukes, and don't take well to any system transition.

Amongst a very small handful of species I've tried and failed with.

I have succeeded with mine but she was at the LFS for 3 months. I suspect because she was in a stable environment for an extended time that is why she is doing well. It may also help that my fish are not very aggressive nor very large and the stocking level is low.

That is what I was afraid of, I guess it will be a no go. Was on the edge since a 46gallon would be a tad small for one I believe anyhow. Hopefully they can breed them in captivity to make a hardier strain someday
