    Welcome to 3 reef younglie

what exactly do you have in your reef in terms of corals

it is not to much flow IMO and may be perfect for many species of soft corals even if it is the only source of flow
if you have more flow demanding corals such as SPS species, then a 2nd one would be ideal

location - trial and error really until you find the sweet spot

to start with place it on end panel glass , facing towards the front glass, at about mid point or just beyond and angled slightly upwards to create good surface movement

Then take it from there after assesing how everything seems to be reacting in relation to the flow you have created

(you may need to adjust angle or position or you may need to move some corals)

it is not a science, it is more of an learning from previous attempts situation IMHO

I have a similar sized tank and run two on alternating random cycles. One is a 550 the other is like a 1050gph. I have them on opposite ends of the tank. I havmine towards the top back corner facing down and front wards at a 45 angle towards center of the tank. I still think I feel like I need more movement though. I either need to up my 550 or add a third. I don't like all the clutter though.
