You can aerate the water with just grabbing a cup or a container and scoop the water in the tank pour it back, creating a splash. The splashing will put oxygen back into the water.

With ice just be careful its in double zip locked bags, so the water from the ice doesn't go into your tank.

computer battery back-ups are great for short power outages. you can run your chiller or fans until the power come back on.

Glad to hear.. No problem anytime.. I run 3 battery backups on two of my systems. It will mantain flow in my system. I do have a backup aerator that run on 2 D batteries as well. That will buy me enough time, until I can get my generator running if I'm not home.. :) The ultimate peace of mind...

I had a 12 hour power outage here in Michigan because of some tornadoes (straight-line winds according to the insurance companies!) and I did the craziest thing until I could get a generator- I pulled my car up to the front door, hooked up an extension cord to my power inverter, and ran my pumps off of it. Worked like a charm! I'm going to get some battery back-ups to prevent having to do this. Ultimately, an uninterruptible power supply, solar collector, or wind generator would be nice too...

Glad to hear your tank is ok!
