I saw these attachments for your powerheads that is sapposed to simulate a wave maker....from looking at it, it just seems like it rotates the flow of water around the tank. Which is what im looking for. i have a few deadspots and something like this would fix it pretty good.

my Question is, has anyone used one of these and are they worth it?

here a link to what im looking at.

Wavemakers: Hydor FLO Rotating Deflector Wavemaker

    Thanks!

I stuck one on a maxi jet 900. It definitely rotated the flow. It wasn't an easy fit though and I think wedging it on there like I did somehow reduced the flow of the powerhead. If it wasn't for that I would have left it on.

yes they work well, moving the flow around your tank so it's not constantly pointing in one direction,

but make sure it fits the powerhead your using.

they work pretty well, however they do drop your flow rate of the powerhead by 1/4 or 1/3 of power. plus once you get it on dont take it off cause i did that and for the rest of the time it floated around the tank. i also had a hair algea problem so i had to frequnitly take it out and clean out the gears
