Such a beautiful bird. I have to take a few new pics of mine but seeing as they, like me, are adjusting to DST, it's hard to catch them awake by the time I get home :( Fred the cockatiel is losing his "baby" feathers and, as a result, his yellow face is no more. I think he's going to be all grey when all is said and done. I was totally unprepared for how much of a "momma's boy" cockatiels can be. George the parrotlet on the other hand, seems to be just fine without having to be on me at all times. Birds are goofy.

Cool bird!! I wanted to get a blue/gold macaw about 2 years ago but could not convince the parents that they were quiet and would not bite a finger off :p

Big birds scare the crap outta me for exactly that reason. My birds are just my size. Conures like Omar's are nice and small too but, damn, do they make some noise!!

I also was going to get a "pretty bird " too but the miss gave it a thumbs down:-/. Her argument was that the house was going to smell alot. What had happened was when the last hurricane blew by and left us without elec. the whole house smelled like uncleaned bird cage. But theres a positive side to this story. I up-graded my 45gal tank to a 90gal tank with all the bells and whistles;D Either way, I got what I wanted:tongue4:........je...je...je

I dont know about up north but I would not trust leaving a $1000+ bird outside (gets stollen). My grandfathers friend has a nice house out in the farm, and he has around 7 or 8 macaws. You could hear them from a mile away . Plus some of them are pretty crazy (dont get near the cage, kind of bird :uhoh2: )

thats a sun conure ,correct?nice birds.i had a jendae conyure named george, almost the same thing.my girl friend left a window open buy its cage one evening before we went out and it was dead from the chill when we got back.i never did beleive it was a mistake cause i warned her many times and they never got along.no longer with her.some day i'll get another parrot, but i'd worry about it too much right now, their such delicate birds accept the quaker which is illegal here.

I leave my birds in the enclosed "Florida" room in the summer and in the house in the winter. Although the screen doors in the Florida room were wide open all summer, nobody tried to steal them but if they were more "exotic", I can't say that I'd have the same results.
