My 75g finally made the transfer to my parents house yesterday ;D. However, the guys did not bring enough water so they added at least 30-40 gallons of tap. They added Prime and told her to buy phosban. (arghhh)
My question is...will Prime break down copper and other heavy metals that she does not need in her tank. They said that many people use tap and add Prime (I am not one of them....never added anything but RO/DI water). Algea is a given, even with phosban...but I hate to think that we are going to have to have an issue with heavy metals. (I finally got it through my parents head to not topoff with tap water, wait till I make some down...now this!). Well I guess now they will get to see the effects of using tap:furious3:Unfortunately I am the one who deals with their tank, so I will be the one fixing this problem

Prime does remove heavy metals, as well as detoxifying Ammonia and Nitrite.

If I had no internet access to ask here then,
I would immediately do a big water change. I would probably do 50%.

what did that dilute the salinity to? Enough left in there to not be a guppy tank?

they did add salt to it at least, it is at 1.022 but I want to get it up a little higher at least.
Thanks for the advice, will add carbon. We were going to transfer things from her 29g as she has live rock and filter established, but I told her we are going to wait a while

Good work, my concern was what I just had to do last night, move a tank and put livestock right back into it my fish/corals ended up living in a 18g rubbermade tote for about 3hrs with a heater and powerhead in it while the 24g nano cleared back up. One of the very few occasions I've actually used stability and once again with very good results :)
