It slipped my mind to change my carbon for about a month and a half and I got a small yellowish tint to my water... gelbstoff.

Carbon is what keeps the gelbstoff from building up in the first place. I changed carbon yesterday and figured it would pick up the yellow tint from the water but it doesnt seem to be improving. Anyone have knowledge on this?
Im trying a water change later today.

I would give it more time, or a larger quantity of carbon, you may have overloaded your usual quantity of carbon. Also ozone may help remove a yellow tint from the water.

+1 it took over a month to build up, gonna take more than a day to remove it, the water change will help in the mean time.
    good luck :)
