Do not do any water changes while you are cycling and the use of prime is not helping. Its only going to take longer to cycle that way. The idea is the rise in ammonia feeds bacteria which convert it to Nitrite. Using prime is just starving the bacteria you are trying to grow.;)

Get some of the Dr. Tims One and Only Nitrifying Bacteria it seeds the tank with the necessary bacteria.
They even promote that you can start a tank and have a couple of hardy fish the same day with the product.

update: all of the fish from the original scenario survived the whole ordeal my ph is sitting at 7.8, my nitrite is sitting at 0ppt, and ammonia is also seems to be sitting at 0ppt, my nitrate is between 5 and 10ppt. from my understanding that should mean the tank has finished cycling? could it really have cycled in just over 2 weeks? the other details about the tank to get an idea of the setup are as followed: 55 gallon tank, 29 gallon sump/fuge (fuge is probably about 8 gallons), the sump contains an aquac remora pro w/mag3 (set up a few days ago)...activated carbon....and prefilter material, the fuge has a few inches of LS and 6 mangrove shoots (freshly grabbed from the mangroves of FL and some have started growing roots already set up for about a week)....the DT has about 55lbs of LR, so far, a sand bed with LS ranging from 1"-4" depending on location in tank, an aquaclear 50 w/sponge and rubble that i had laying around, the livestock in the tank include 2 green damsels(not 100% on species) 2 blue/green chromis a domino damsel a three strip damsel an african moony(looking for a home for him) a cleaner shrimp hermit crab and emerald crab, the live rock have some dusters coming from them as well as some coraline starting to grow and possibly translucent sponges?, the lighting is a 48" current satellite PC 2x65 actnic/10k and in the sump a normal 16" fluorescent hood

oh and the return pump in the sump is i believe max 580 GPH

Yes, it could very well be done. You started the tank with live rock and sand, and despite their condition, still contained bacteria. You also added bacteria supplement. Just continue to monitor your levels for the next couple weeks just to be safe.
