Podibio, Zeovit, ultralith, and Reef Refresh all have components of lowering nutrient levels and a component that is "coral colour enhancers". You can run all the systems with the basic nutrient lowering components then add what you think will be best for your tank.

Actually I'm not sure Podibio has the nutrient lowering components?

All sounds great ! Who needs it ?! Bacterial package we receive with our LR is more than enough! Moreover, introduction of foreign bacterial strains to the established ecosystem (mature tank) can cause very funny problems, not with ammonia/nitrite/nitrate cycle, but for example parasite/pathogen balance! Adding glass vials and modified argon atmosphere packing is such a funny marketing trick :D LOL ...

One thing I know is that there is an entire culture of reekkeepers that use either ZEO or Prodibio. Most of them have great looking tanks. My problems were in my ability to balance the system.

Ther bacteria that are present in the LR are not the same as the bac in the water column in nature. SPS feed on those bac too. However I too am nervous about adding to high of a bacteria concentrate. The question is who really knows what is too much. Sea water in a reef is such a complex thing.

LR doesn't really contain all the bac we need. If it did our tanks could break down Nitrates and Phosphates far better than they do.

One thing is for sure while using Prodibio my water was never clearer.

Wow. Thanks everyone for chiming in. You all have brought up some great questions. Jimw369 please let us know what the rep has to say. I started reading about it and was thinking about giving it a try. I'm trying to improve color and growth. Camilsky you've brought up a point I was a bit worried about myself. After multiple attempts to drain my bank account I am now very timid about changes to my now stable system. Jimw369. Please check with the rep about addition of Reef booster to a mature tank. That was the only product I was going to try. Be curious to know what benefit if any the others might have.

Hey Scott what products are you using and what do you attribute the clear water to?

I attribute the clear water to the BioOptim and the BioDigest. I am no longer dosing either and instead use Vodka. I do dose the Reefbooster regularly and I attribute brighter colors to it. I add it to a mature tank all the time. I dont see you havng any problems. It would be very hard to OD corals on amino acids. Believe me I try every day. I also do some experimental dosing to ellict a feeding response. That is done with L-proline and L-lysine. L-proline is one of the aa's that corals dont sythesize.

I have thought about trying the other stuff again. But I dont think it does anything that vodka doesn't do.
