just added a Aqueon Proflex sump to my 90 gallon, i have set it up with live rock, however heres the clever man questions . . . . . . . .LoL

The over flow is the Aqueon 220 with 2 outlets so the kind man at the shop "altered" the sump to to take 2 inlets, 1 in each sock, now how do i equalize the amount of water coming in, with the amount of water going out ? i am running a Maxi-jet Submersible Utility (4500).

I am told that the live rock stays on its own and the skimmer and pump both go into the last compartment, I have plumbed this with hoses and not hard pipes

Looking for some great advice as always :)

I had a Proflex sump on my old 29 gallon before I upgraded to 90 recently. I thought it was well designed if you go fuge-less or skimmer-less. I was latter, for 6 month.

I assume that you got the ProFlex model 3, correct? and the hang on over flow box with two outlet not one. Then you managed to squeeze the two outlet pipes directly into the socks since the model you got had only one drain inlet. It should work in theory.

Now, you dont really equalize the amount of water up and down. The whole system decides on its own. But if the overflow box cant drain out the amount of the return pump pushes, the main display floods. If the return pushes too little, the over flow siphon breaks with an annoying slurping noise.

I hope it helps, and good luck.

yes it the newer model, I got it all going last night, and am pretty impressed already, i was a little concnered about running the skimmer and the pump in the same area due to the micro bubbles, but to be honest they are really not that bad, at the moment anyways.

I do have a little "slurping noise" from the overhand, I ready some where about placing a filter media into the hose to quieten it down a little ?

Well I didnt know if there was older ones. I thought they just came out? Anyways, Im glad its working. Post some pics if you can. Thousand words.
What kind of skimmer do you have? You could try and plumb and adjust the skimmer outlet back so the water dumps on the blue sponge.
