Protein Skimmer(Help)

    That skimmer is strange, but it does look as if the power head hooks that that L bracket above the output. But where is the air intake? Is there someplace where an airhose hooks on? That would supply air via passive intake. Looks pretty small too. If it is for a nano, I would imagine a PH with about 200GPH would do fine....but you would probably have to dial it down.

    OK, I see where the intake is. Just put an airhose on that and hang it out of the way. That will take care of your air. It will be drawn in on it's own as water passes it and creates a pressure gradient.

    hey

    About the protein skimmer i just hooked it up a week ago and connected the powerhead to the ltube thingy but thing is there hasnt been any foam forming... This skimmer is really a pain!!!! it just shoots water out of the hole and thats it!

    power head should have air in let in it maybe open that and might come to life.

    There should be an air intake adjustment thing on the skimmer somewhere. There you can "tune" it to get the right amount and size of bubbles.

    some power heads have air inlet hose with a caped end on it. I was just sugesting that he use the power head to inject air into skimmer. Sorry if it sounded weird.

    Thnanks for all the help so far.. rhorton or 10acrewoods mind explaining to me step by step on how to attach it to my powerhead please?

    Well... there are still no bubbles in the skimmer and ive been trying differnt things like buying a new pump and stuff.. my water is now getting murky and corals are starting to die.. should i use activated carbon??
