Alright, so I want to upgrade from my 30 gallon to a 75. I already purchased the lights for it, even though i lack the tank haha... anyways, Im looking to get an in-sump protein skimmer, but Im looking for one that has a pump with it that'll pump the water from the sump back into the tank. Whats an ideal GPH for a pump and is there any protein skimmer/pump combinations?

    thanks

Kind of a difficult question to answer. It depends on the skimmer. I have a short list of skimmers I generally recommend for people, listed below.

    PM Bullet-1
    ETSS 600XR
    AquaC EV-180
    ASM G2

Each one of these skimmers requires a different GPH rated pump in order to run. Also, you will need about 10x the number of your water volume as recirculation. So just calculate those numbers, add them up and get a pump large enough to handle both. Then outfit the pump output with a 'Y' joint and two ballvalves to contol flow. That's what I would do.
