    poked around the tank at night and noticed hundreds of tiny snails ( newborns ) smaller than the head of a pin. pictures didnt come out good enought to post, there to small. but there probably trochus based off of the shape.

    I found a few hundred baby abalones back in the summer, Here is the link...

    the shell somewhat resembles those and these are also white, but there so small i can hardly make them out with my eyes let alone a camera.

    Mine were tropical abalones. I have the black kind and also the tan kind (dont know specifics on them)

    I've found scores of tiny cerith babies roaming the lower portions of the glass and rockwork at night. They're getting bigger, albeit very slowly. Only now after probably 3 or 4 months are the big ones starting to turn from white to brown.

    Be careful what you are "proud" of. Those "hundreds" are going to grow up and produce "hundreds" more.

    I for years have had to go through waves of them. Scraping off glass at night best way to deal with.

    Keep an eye on Ca levels.

    Plus I think I get a good deal of help from my sixline wrasse.

    whats the sense of having a reef tank it might as well be a bookshelf. i can either sell them later on or put them in the other reef tank im constructing.

    i.e. xenia, gsps, snails...

    Want some asterina starfish to go along with those snails?...

    I have plenty of both.
