pump noise

    I just set up my sump using a Quiet One pump (6000) for my return. I am noticing that it is NOT quiet - it makes a rattling noise, especially since I reduced the flow into the return using a ball valve. Does this noise usually go away on its own, or am I doing something wrong?

    dont use a ball valve "T" off the return line and send some water back to the sump. put the ball valve on the line returning to the sump that way it isn't stressing your pump
