I am ashamed to say that I have not cleaned it. It is in an area of the sump where really nothing can get to us.. It's too guarded by sponges. I'm guessing I need to take the pump apart to clean it?

I just figurd it out. The HOB overflow box that hangs in the tank. The plastic nut that holds the box in place came loose so the inside box fell down in the tank a little bit. Adjusted in back up tightened the nut and now it's fine. I've been kicking myself for not getting the tank drilled.. This just adds to that frustration. Thanks for the help everyone. K+
