    I have a strange newbe question . i have a purple death zoa i have had it about 3 months as a frag but the question is it normal for them to eat mysis if the particals are small enough ? its neet to watch and it is starting to get big quick ive counted about 10 more polips sence i have got it but most of the groth has come from the polips have grown in size from a quarter inch to almost 7/16 of an inch

    Any coral will eat what it can catch and fit in its oral opening.

    Are you target feeding? If you are you might want to try something a bit smaller, or make the mysis very small

    are you sure they are zoas and not palys? I know zoas will eat pretty well too, but I've had some palys the would eat big chunks of shrimp, so I know palys can chow down! I mean I had a medium size colony that could eat a hole cube of brine shrimp by itself.

    im not target feeding it directly i do target feed them phyto once a week . here are some pics of it and a pic of the tank as it is right now i finaly got rid of the driftwood back i painted a pice of plexiglass to put on there im waiting a fiew days for it to dry

    Yes its normal..I have a large colony of palys and they will sometimes grab the flakes or mysis and eat it.
