Purple Sea Slug

I agree that its sad that it will die no matter where it is. If it was something that could be saved even by spot feeding or what have you I'd be willing to try to save it BUT on the other hand if I buy it on a mission of mercy I'm encouraging the collection of an animal that has no business being outside of the ocean. Sad cycle :-/

And it's true that we do drive up the demands but at the same time it seems to me that its the responsiblity of every SW hobbiest to try to do research before buying....so many websites where you can go and ask before buying.

It's like our decision to buy a hawkfish as our last fish (sometime the end of the summer) when we made the decision to buy it we knew that meant no shrimp, which we were looking forward to having a little fire or cleaner shrimp. The chain pet store said nah it'll be fine, get a big shrimp and a little fish, then the fish shouldn't eat it.....SHOULDN'T! It says in the fishes description EATS shrimp....um sure I want to get attached to a critter only to find it half eaten in my tank because I put it in with a known predator :-[ More proof that to many stores just want your money and don't give a rip about the animal, I'm so lucky to have a local small saltwater shop that watches out for both me and the animals that they sell...

 

I made the mistake of trusting my LFS thats a big NOnO I dont care how long you trade wiht him he is in it for the money.....
