Purple Tang is doing well. He/She was just transported into QT tank #2. With all visible signs of ick gone. The fisk looks good but, I am preparing it for transportation back into the main tank. Slowly acclimating to MT water etc.. I have never used a QT tank before. It happens to be a new staple of the hobby for me. I have always known about the advantages of QT but, have really never needed one (or wanted to deal with). I've spent good money on fish/corals and never had a problem. This purple tang I have is one of the ones you don't see very often as vibrant and voracious. This problem with ick has prompted the quarantine tank to be a permanent fixture in the house. The wife doesn't know that it's here to stay yet. It was also something to build and work on which is always fun in this hobby. I am addicted to the world of the ocean.

    Love my Purple Tang

When I first started my tank about two years ago, my lfs suggested a Powder Blue Tang...a mistake. Got ich and died. So I waited a while and then bought a Purple Tang. Later I added a Blonde Naso Tang. There was a little bit of a struggle at first but they have done great for a year and a half now. No ich or any problems whatsoever. Good luck with yours.

Purple and Yellow Tang are pretty but they are too mean for me to want in my tank. I have a Bi-color Psuedo that I need to get rid of for the same reason.
Hope all goes well with yours, if nothing else add them last so they won't pick on all the new fish.

One of our, not so local, LFS have one that they had to pull from one of their tanks as it was bullying all of the fish in that tank. He is now in isolation....But again, they are awesome...8)..Sorry about the ich problem, glad to hear it is clearing up so quickly. I would certainly wait several weeks and probably a month before introducing to your display tank...

It died overnight. This is very discouraging. I don't care about the $ loss. I have put alot of hardwork into this fish. And the hobby in general. Almost felt like throwing in the towel. It's too bad that this hobby is an addiction to me. I haven't ever heard of reeftanks anonymous. I guess if this was easy it wouldn't be fun.

Sorry for your loss bud! Sometimes you just get that unlucky card that means a bust! Keep at it! Reef keeping is not a cheap, easy or quick thing. It comes with hard-work, patience and endurance.
