My latest addition is a purple tip frogspawn its about 6 inches wide when fully opened, my question is could any body give me any tips on positon and flow, my tank is a 55gallon, 18/20 inch deep, i have positioned it so the tips are 2 inches below the surface, under 4x marine whites 39watt, and 2x39watt blue actinics, the luminaire is about 8 inches of the surface so its 10 inches under 230watts of t5 lighting, is this ok or are there any signs to look out for, thanks in advance....p.s , flow is medium from a koralia 2 and the calcium is 400ppm...

Frogspawns are very light forgiving, so you could probably lower it. They also like a medium flow, just enough to bring them food but not enough to stress them.

gentle flow, just enough to keep it moving around a bit. I keep mine in the very bottom of my tank in the sand.

I 2nd the bottom idea. That is wear I keep mine and they do very well there. They definately dont like strong currents so a remote spot from your power heads is a good idea. I like to just see a little movement all the time on mine.

I have mine in a 33 long about 1/2 way up on the glass under 216 watts of T5 light in a area with medium to low flow and it is thriving. Been like this for about 5 months it done better since i put it up there than when it was on the bottom.

I have a feeling it has to do with the fact it is hanging perpendicularly off the glass and not standing straight up though. This picture does it absolutely no Justice though it did not capture any of its color, also it is about 8" from side to side when open like this.
