IMO i would wait till your tank is established and has finished cycliing before using the purple up. there is no need to waste it right now.
i have never need to use the product before, my coralline has always showen up when the tank was ready

really, and you think the spores can survive in the bottle? or does it just boost what is already in the tank. every peice of LR i have bought has had atleast a small spot of coralline on it.
someone needs to try and test control case. nothing but dead rock and sand, let it cycle and then use the purple up. if coralline grows then logic says it should have spores in it.

It is hard to argue with someone named " Ball Puncher", that is unless you are a girl, then I say tell Mr. BallPuncher to slow down or bad bad things will happen to the fish..

Purple up is good, but all the advise already given applies. I have found some salt to give the 450 / 500 calcium levels so if you use them its not needed anyway.

    Good Luck Mrs BallPuncher

If you have something like coralline or anything that uses calcium, it will be depleted. Purple up is like a "booster".

Already tried it, however I did have one small piece of liverock in there for bacteria starter. I use to grow my own liverock using base tufa rock.

Purple up can and will work. As has been stated stay on top of testing your params. Tangster once stated in a post, that all purple up was is the dust from cc Agronite. Which does contain spores. How big is your tank by the way? I don't remember seeing that stated. Anyways good luck !

If I don't use additives in my sps tank that 450 number will drop to about 300 in a day so you can't say it's not needed.
