I honestly couldn't tell you never used it. My 5.5 has been up for 5 months, and I've been seeing more coralline growing on the glass within the last 2 months...

ditto, I have never used that stuff. You should be careful with it b/c it has alot of iodine. As long as you keep your Cal level between 400-460, you'll be fine. Nothing happens over night, only death.

I used to use it. Stopped once I switched to Red Sea Coral Pro salt. CA around 480 , MG 1400, Coraline will grow.

When I did start using the Purple up, I say it took 3-4 weeks before it started. I started using it to help cause my can was 380 - 400.

One thing I will say, SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE the bottle. It settles at the bottom. When you pour it should be thinck not watery.

    \Cheers

I don't mean to hijack the thread but it's kinda on topic... have you ever dosed CA? Or did the salt bring up your levels on it's own? I GOING to use the same salt and i'm just wondering if you like it?

Never used it and never considered using it. Mother nature will take care of the coraline when everything is right with your system.

within a day or so the crushed particles in Purple form at the bottom on bottle to a solid... you have to take the bottle and smack it against the floor/wall/wood/ somethin HARD.... till you feel the solid disk in the bottom dissolved when shook up...

I have been dosing purple up for about 2 months now with good growth.. but i also do water changes once a week and i think it plays a bigger role then the purple up does, but after i use purple up i can tell where spots are concentrated on my rocks, dark purple/light purple everywhere where it has settled on rocks overnight
