Let me re-phrase; am not saying that its bad or if it doesnt work. I, myself cannot give that comment b/c I have never used it. But if you keep your paras where they need to be, there shouldnt be a need for purple up.

Don't waste your money. It's a clever marketing name that is extremely expensive per ounce of actual calcium, mag, and other elements that's in that little bottle.

You can mix Super Washing Soda(Arm and Hammer) and 20 Mule team Borax together to dose for Alk. Its cheaper and it lasts a long time.

Dont use the baking soda thats on the left of the pic. The way you mix it is a 4 to 1 ratio. Arm&Hammer is 4 parts and the Borax is 1 part. If you do decide to try this out, please start out with very small mixtures and doses. Remember to always test before dosing and after. You can easily over dose on alk.

I have used purple up for 2 months now and have exactly nothing to show for it.

Yes there are a few patches that showed up here and there but nothing substantial.

My params are Alkalanity 12, Mg 1500+, Ca 500+.
