Tonight after lights out, I was about to leave for work when I noticed my purple urchin didnt look right. He was on the front glass so I took a closer look. His color wasnt as vibrant and his mouth wasnt moving, which ever time I look at him it is. Then I noticed a small black line on him. When I hit it with the flash light it looked like a small bristle worm, but appeared to disappear into the urchin. It was to quick to get a picture.

My two questions are: Is it possible that a bristle worm is on the urchin causing him stress, or killing him, and if he does die over night, can the urchin release toxins into my tank hurting or killing anything else?

no if the urchin dies it will not release anything bad, but should be removed right away
