I just finished plumbing the last two pvc pipes using pvc clear pvc cement. It has been drying for 3 hours now.

I ran tons of superhot water through all the pvc pipes before installation to make sure there is no pvc dust.

My question is, when the pvc glue dries on the inside of the last joint in the plumbing, should i run some ro/di water through the dried joint or is that joint non toxic at this point?

The reason i havn't run water through it is that it willl go straight to my empty sump. If i have to run water through it, how much water should i run through it.

And also how long should i let it dry before starting the sump.

    Thanks.

PVC cement is fine to use with your tank, as far as how long to wait before you start using it I'm not positive but you could try googling to see the curing time for PVC cement, as I know it's not on the can for some reason.

its depends on the cement that you used. I use red hot blue glue and i have waited as little as 20 min for the stuff to cure before running it. and i have had no problems in the tank or leaks either.

I guess my main question was do i have to run some water through it first or can i just start using my return.

I asked our handyman that does all the work in our house and he told me that it becomes non toxic in less than 5 minutes and he uses it on drinking water pipes all the time.

If you used some primer on it, you could probably run the pumps in as little as 2 hrs.

You should be good to go since it won't be holding pressure.
