I'm about to start the plumbing for my sump which will be 1" white PVC. Is the regular 2 part PVC glue that you get from the hardware store safe for aquariums? I'm assuming it is since I don't know any other way to join the pipe but wanted to make sure before I ruin something with the wrong glue.

I used regular Low VOC PVC cement, the goop in the can with an oversized Q-tip to spread it. I don't know what kind of stuff you're talking about being "2 part", though, unless you're talking about primer then adhesive. I didn't use primer, but you can.

Yes, one bottle is primer (purple I think) then the other is the actual adhesive.(blue stuff?) and yes, the ones in metal cans that have big q-tip like applicators...

Yep, that's the stuff to use for PVC. If it's good enough for drinking water, it's typically good enough for fish tanks.
