Haha, sorry so BOLD!!! Anyways, I was wondering if placing a couple seeded bioballs would work for a QT tank, and where would I place them? I also have a saturated brown sponge in my sump that looks completely disgusting but I am sure it is crawling with bacteria. I could cut a piece of that off perhaps?

I seeded a five gallon QT with some sponge and floss from my sump. I used DT water to start it, I usually see a spike in ammon. and nitrite briefly when I add a fish because smaller tank takes a day or two to adjust to new bioload.

So most likely I should throw some flakes in there...or try to catch one of my damsels and throw him in there?

Without a constant bioload you will recycle whenever you add in fish. Also, the purpose of a QT is to have a controlled environment between uses so reusing water is a bit of a silly idea. Probably the most common reason for just using clean fresh saltwater every time with waterchanges to control ammonia/nitrate
