Hello Everyone. I have a question about fins and tail fins on fish. I go into my LFS from time to time and I am building my sump and tank stand but have not got any Saltwater Fish yet. I often see some fish that have tattered tail fins do to other fish nipping at them and fighting and so on. Do the tail fins on fish grow back over time. I wonder as I want to get the best I can for my cash.

Let me know if you guys have some insight about the fishy finns.

    Cheers.

Yes, fins do grow back, just as sea stars legs will regenerate. Some idea.

I got my Coral Beauty angel from my lfs about 4 months ago. There was a large nip out of the CB's tail. Within a few weeks of being in my tank, the tail was back to normal.

Yep will grow back. Usually from a bully fish in the tank.
