They likely ate all the ones you can see. Does your rock have a lot of small crevices that your fish can't get in to?

After the lights have been out for an hour or so, shine a torch into your tank. You'll probably see some of them run for cover. If you don't, your fish have eaten them.

the rock does have a lot of holes so you think the pods are gone completly the thing is the rock i used to cycle was rock from another tank that i ran for well over a year so obviously they were still living its all very confusing to me

I see nearly no pods during the night on my rock, but they're active during the day in large numbers.

get a flashlight w/ a red bulb or filter and they won't run. they can't see the red spectrum so you can observe w/o disturbing your inhabitants
