:confused:Question??? just got my media basket/fuge from InTank. Korilia 750gph/rio 6HF/Aquaticlife mini internal skimmer/purigen/chemi-pure elite/filter media in today. I also purchased a rio mini sun lamp to light the chaeto when it comes(haven't ordered it yet but I am going to immediately).

Question is as I do not have all my bioballs yet removed from my 29g biocube, can I take the rest of them out now and put all this stuff in and wait for the chaeto without causing a spike in ammonia, nitrite, etc??

I have about 3/4 of them removed over the past week and a half and just took out another 3 handfulls today(10-20-10). Should I wait for another 3 days to take the rest out or will the chemi-pure and purigen work right away while I wait a couple of days for the chaeto??

Thinking about throwing some Calupera in as well into the fuge and some in the display, should I do that?

So many questions I wish I would have asked before I ever put water in the tank, would have made things a lot better if I would have researched more a year ago, yes my tank has been set up for a year, no real problems except for the nitrate. Got all this stuff so I can add corals and make a healthier aquarium for the fish. Hope it all goes well.

Thanks for any advice on the above questions.;D

The new media should go a long way to preventing any spikes especially if you have live rock. I think you would be fine.

As for the macro algae whatever you like go for it. Just remember that caulerpa can go sexual at any time and wipe out the tank if you let it get too large.

I think you would be fine in swapping them all out now and I agree with unclejed about putting calupera in the DT. If it takes root in one of your rocks, you will be hard pressed to eradicate it all when it starts taking off. I would just leave it in the back with the chaeto if you want it.
