I am planning on changing from a 75 gallon seclear system that i have set up as a reef tank, the tank has been great but a better tank came along for the right price.

I am upgrading to a 75 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump, i have built the sump and water tested it, everythings going well, the only problem is that I haven't gotten an In sump skimmer yet, and with the way the tank fits under my tank I dont think ill be able to hang the skimmer i have from the sump, would I be okay for running without the skimmer for a week, until I order a new one and receive it? I want to get this tank set up tomorrow because I have time, but don't want tot do it at the risk of losing any livestock.

Any tips or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Yep you'll be fine. People run tanks without skimmers for the whole life of the tank

should be fine, just keep up on water changes without a skimmer running....you have a good amount of live rock I assume?

Yeah I have about 75 lbs of live rock, I'm thinking of adding another 20 during the change

Agree with both, it will be fine. One alternative though, if you want, is to continue running the HOB on your DT until you get an in-sump replacement.

I would add a substantial amount of water from you existing tank. That way its an easier transition for your fish and corals.

I guess I could run the skimmer as hob but don't want to, I think I'm selling it tomorrow. I plan on adding all my water to the new tank

That's what I always do. Contrary to popular belief, old tank water is not magically too dirty to reuse. It is, however, mature and stable.

Yeah the new one is drilled and has a megaflow offset overflow with durso drain,
Increases my space in the DT and increases my volume be caused I'm adding a 30 gallon sump
