I, bought a aiptasia eating file fish from WWC in FL. I am picking it up on sunday and am really exited. This fish seems to be a hardy fish but I just want to know from other reefers if there was anything that was difficult or chalanging about this fish?

current stock: solar wrasse, longfin fairy wrasse, x2 clownfish, one spot fox face.

The tank has a really, really heathly supply of aiptasia thus the reason for getting one. Its a 75 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump and fuge.

cool fish, if he sticks to aiptasia, but they can go on a rampage of other corals as well and then be hard to feed. My LFS guy had one go to town on alot of his corals one day while he was working.

I don't know about the coral part so I defer to Cosmo's input on that. I had a file fish for quite some time (until my tank crashed :() - it was very hardy and a good eater - was very peaceful with other fish as well. Mine ate a variety of food. That it will eat aptasia is an added bonus, but thought you'd like to know that once the aptasia is exhausted, it should eat other foods fine

sweet sounds like an interesting fish but alas my hard corals and LPS corals have all but been killed by the aptasia ;( which is why these *******s must die, as far as soft corals I have a GSP stock and a few zoas thats about it.

I'm glad oldfishkeeper had success feeding them other food, but be prepped if it doesn't. this seems like a fish that is best as a temporary member of your tank. lol hopefully;)
