    Sooo.... I have 4 varied species and colors of toadstools in my reef. My question is, most of them when I got them were flat looking and more umbrella shaped. In my tank however they have more of a wavy look or curled look to their edges.

    Does anyone know why they do this? Flow / Levels or plain out its just what their gonna do? I don't mind them wavy looking but I just thought it was odd. Was wondering if anyone on here knew a reasoning behind it?

    As they grow bigger,it's normal for them to get a wavy top on them,sorta makes them look like a crown.

    It is as grinder said, also, I read they "contort" to catch the water current to best suit their needs. Here is my 7 year old one;

    Very nice guys thanks for the info. I was just surprised, I have about a 10-12" big one, and at the store it was like and umbrella and in my tank its all wavy and such!

    +k for you both.

    Just growing and adjusting to your current,it looks great!He looks really happy to me.Also a nice shot! We have a baby green tenticle that still looks like a button mushroom,but the mother he was fragged from is wavy as well.

    Thanks! I noticed underneath the main toadstool is 2 smaller ones sprouting out of the side, Im hopping they pop themselves off so I can get them situated and growing in different spots of the tank or sell them for sure. This is quite the beauty My camera has an issue with white balance and I still havent figured out how to get it to show color better yet. So many hours put into that thing, probably should look at the manual huh? LOL.

    I normally wouldnt spend 80$ on a toadstool but this one was well huge and the green is just stunning. Im glad the color is still holding out in the tank quite well.

    when the 2 babies are big enough to have a little stem,just cut them off at the base and rubber band them to a rock.You allmost can't kill them.The biggest and nicest one we ever had we got from a friend,there was 4 large ones on the same rock,he just grabbed one by the stalk and peeled it off the rock,literally tore it off,we stuck him on a rock and he was open the next day.Moving those babies will be a piece of cake.
