Question.

I am running a 14g mixed biocube, I have a 150w mh right now but want to change to a t5 fixture for power consumption reasons. My question is would a 18 inch current nova extreme 2x (18w) bulb, be enough to keep my corals happy ?

 

If you still have the hood to the BC, you could look at RapidLED's plug and play LED kits. Those should work out just fine.

You say you have a mixed reef, what corals do you have?

 

I do not have the hood anymore/ I don't trust LED's with coral still (yeah i know lol). I have a couple large acan colonies, a tricolor.

 

And to add to that, I would replace the 10k and actinic with a uvl 454 and possibly a uvl indigo sun or a purple.

 

Stick with your MH until you are ready to go led. A t-5 is enough different then a MH you might not like it imo

So today I bought a 2 bulb 24watt nova extreme. went with one puple plus and one blue plus from ATI and I have to say, it is amazing. As soon as I can figure out the camera settings to adjust for the ridiculous amount of blue I will post pictures. Also all my corals look happy
