Just got a used one in the mail-won't say where I purchased it at the time- and I'm not sure what exactly it is supposed to look like.

It is an older version of the AquaC EV 120, where the gate valve is located on the smaller side and not the larger side of the skimmer box.

    My questions are-
    1. Is the riser cup supposed to be secured to the skimmer box or is it supposed to completely come off easily?
    2. Is the little flat plate inside the skimmer box supposed to be all connected to every side? I think so, but just in case I am missing something here.

Here's a pic of the Skimmer altogether

And here is a pic of the riser cup and collection cup seperated from the skimmer box

Oh and I googled it, looking for a picture of an older version of the EV 120 and can't find one. I tried to google both the questions but couldn't find the answer.

What I am worried about is if the riser cup isn't attached there is going to be too much air pressure and water in the skimmer box to where it will come out of the two little holes on either side of the elbow pipe. Hope that makes sense, not too sure what the elbow is called. Thanks

I would email AquaC and see what they say.

I don't know if this is going to help but I have a newer version of the 120 and I would say the riser cup should be attached to the box and the baffle inside should be attached as well I am guessing that the glue or epoxy they used has come loose from either a long period of use or maybe whatever they cleaned it with before they sold it . I am sure that it can be glued back together . The good thing here is the customer service at Aqua C was really good when I did have a question when I first set up mine. Give them a call and I will bet they can help.

I am thinking the riser portion should not come off at all.

I have the EV 240 and the only thing that comes off is the collection cup and the cap on the top of that cup. Everything else is secure.

Ditto on everything Crabby Jim said. I have an EV-180 and had to call Aqua C customer service and they are awesome!

The riser is definitely busted, it's supposed to be glued to the body. It can be fixed with some acrylic Weld-On. The cracks/crazing in the collection cup look pretty deep as well, test that for leaks. I can't say for sure about the baffle inside of the body, I'd have to see a picture of it. I have the EV-180, but they are fundamentally the same.
