I received this frag and am quite excited about it. I've glued it to an oyster shell and it's resting comfortably. It looks to me like the red flesh is receded quite badly (correct me if I'm wrong) and this is the way I received it. What are the chances, with proper conditions and good feedings, that it will recover? This morning I saw the flesh extending and expanding nicely from the look of things. Any ideas on what I can do to help it out? I will provide more pics as soon as I can and apologize in advance for the poor quality of this one.

Try to feed it when it's tenticles come out. It doesn't look great, but it also doesn't look terrible. I have found favia to be fairly hardy as mine as survived several tank issues.

I haven't seen it's tentacles come out. What I did was just pipe some cyclop-eeze on each mouth. They definitely ate. Is not seeing the tentacles something I should worry about? It's only been 3 days.

Thanks by the way. Gives me some hope of saving it!!

It does look a lot better, just keep an eye on it because your not out of the woods yet. If you continue to feed it, that should help it recover faster. In my experience, favia and favites are pretty fast growers.

Thanks!! I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it too. I think it looks leaps and bounds better than that top pick. I'm really thinking it will pull through!!

When I first got it, it did. I haven't fed it anything larger than a cyclop-eeze so I don't know but I will see :D Time for a brine I think :D:D
