Actually, the 6 should be on the Right. Basic typing skills dictate the "6" is to be stroked with the Right Index finger. Most people feel more comfortable using the Left hand though.

A genius move would be to have dual 6s on a split keyboard.

Ahh how that vast amount of useless information comes in use sometimes.

I used to have a keyboard where the space bar was split. The right was backspace and the left side of it was space... well, i only use my right thumb for space... never my left thumb... that keyboard ended up under my jumping feet...

I also only use my left shift key, the right one is useless to me. What other keys... yes, the | and \ can't seem to find a solid home... seems like that's always in a different spot.

Jeeze, when can I type with my mind???!!!??!! I'm tired of being stuck in the past... I want a port (wireless, naturally) to connect me directly to the internet and my office apps.

I want to IM people with my mind... who wants to talk with their fingers/keyboard or mouth/phone? psh. And don't even get me started on pencils! I want a (secure) bluetooth in my mouth dangit! (pun for the win?)

    ;D

We've just got a traditional flat no splitty keyboard. And by the looks of it...the 6 is almost in the middle between the T and Y, maybe slightly right.

I learned on a split keyboard, and they had the keys blacked out so no cheating. I appreciated the blacking out thing, because now I can type and look at the screen all day long without having to even look down once at my hands. The splitness wasn't so much fun for me, but that's when I was in 6th grade with pre pubescent hands. I wonder what it'd feel like to use one now...I'm sure carpal tunnel will tell me in a couple of decades if I should have switched or not.
