    Hey,
I'm very new to R.O D.I filtration. If fact, I don't believe that I have ever seen a unit besides in pictures, we don't have them here in Trinidad (yeah, we're so primitive lol).
I'm looking into buying one. Two of which caught my eye on ebay.
100 GPD RO Reverse Osmosis Water Filter 6 stage DI NEW - eBay (item 370244125601 end time Sep-10-09 16:55:36 PDT)

Reef Water Reverse Osmosis RO DI Filter Aquarium 75GPD - eBay (item 110419805015 end time Sep-29-09 10:17:26 PDT)

I'm confused as to why the first one, the 100GPD comes with a tank (looks like a BBQ pit gas tank)
And the other one doesn't come with the tank.

The cost of shipping is a huge factor because I'm shipping it internationally. So I assume that the tank makes the package both larger and heavier.
    So, my questions are,
What are those tanks used for?
    Are they necessary?
    Thanks in advance;)

the tank and faucet are for using it for drinking water as well the tank just hold water at a pressure for instant water in the amount the tank holds

Oh I think I understand now. So if I only plan on using it for my aquariums, I don't need to spend the extra money for shipping.
I could just get the system w/o the tank?

    I personally bought from this seller, and bought this unit;
    0PPM Portable 50GPD Reverse Osmosis RO+DI Water Filter - eBay (item 380152416632 end time Aug-31-09 20:18:32 PDT)

I stock up on replacement filters and took advantage of the free shipping.

I built an auto top off that is fed from a 35 gallon food grade container. The container is filled with the line from the RO/DI so the 50 gallons aday is nover an issue, I just turn on the water to "top-off" my top off;D
Ive been using mine for about 4 months and it does what it is meant to.

you can also go to the web site purewaterclub.com and order it there instead of ebay I got mine from there after the filters need to be replaced Just order good quality filters and you will have a great unit. although I am going to mod mine a little to accommodate my needs. but for the price you can't go wrong.

An advantage on the Ebay is the free shipping, they may have that on their site as well, but if you do the "buy it now" on Ebay and have a microsoft live acount/currently called "Bing" you save an extra 10%-
To sign up for the cashback program is free.
Just an FYI about Bing and Ebay

Wow, pure water club's units are a steal of a deal. I'll be buying mine from there them. Thank for the link guys.
However, when I try to log on to purewaterclub web site, they say that I need a password. I also want to stock up of replacement filters in the event that I can't get the correct type in Trini when I need them.
