I'm looking into getting a system and want to know if a plain R/O system would be fine or if it needs to be RODI. Also is a Coralife system any good.

RO/DI is the best and I don't know anything about Coralife units. I know Spectrapure are the best ones, but they are pricier.

Remanufactured Spectrapure's from their website. $120 or so for 90g/day. So good.

I ordered spectrapures refurbished unit on Tuesday and just recieved it. I'll let azdesertrat tell you how awesome the membranes and DI cartridge are, but I wouldn't pass up the deal if you are looking to purchase now.

RO by itself only does 90 to 98% of the treatment so you still have Total Dissolved Solids in the treated water. DI does the final polishing needed to get it to 0 TDS.

I have a BRS 100gpd ro/di filter for about 1 year now and haven't had any bad experiences. decently recommend plus it seems to be on the cheaper side compared to others. hope this helps
